Moira Rayner White
An editor, writer, project manager and social policy analyst with more than 25 years of experience in communication and a decade of experience in print publication, Moira heads the editorial and English writing components of Ubiquitext Communications. She is currently President of the Editors' Association of Canada(EAC) (www.editors.ca) and is Past Chair of EAC National Capital Region. She teaches Copy Editing for the EAC in Ottawa and Montréal, has managed onsite production of conference proceedings both in Canada and Europe, and has travelled across Canada with public consultations writing, editing, and producing reports.
Moira has a thorough understanding of the public policy-making process and has edited, compiled, and produced the work of multiple authors. She recently passed the first of four new certification exams for professional editors . From 2000 to 2006 she worked in-house at a firm specializing in conference publishing, rising to the position of Managing Editor. She holds a Master's degree in Social Work (Social Policy) and is currently completing a post-graduate Certificate in Publishing from Ryerson University.
Marine Armstrong
A certified translator and writer whose work has been published in both English and French, Marine heads the translation and French writing components of Ubiquitext Communication. She has more than 20 years of experience in translation for the public and private sectors and has worked on and managed projects across Canada and Europe . In addition to many years of freelance work, she was Chief Translator for an Ottawa-based firm specializing in conference publishing for three years. For ten years, she taught university-level French-as-a-second-language in Birmingham (England), Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ottawa.
She holds a Licence de lettres modernes and Licence d'Anglais, traduction et littérature from Université de Toulouse le Mirail, Toulouse, France. Marine has also studied toward the Maîtrise en lettres françaises, University of Ottawa. She is a member of the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario.
